The Burbank Police Department will conduct an Anonymous Gun Buyback Event on Saturday, December 20, 2025, providing City of Burbank residents with a safe and confidential method to dispose of unwanted firearms.The initiative aims to reduce the availability of unwanted weapons in the community while ensuring proper verification and lawful handling of all collected firearms.Event DetailsDate: Saturday, December 20, 2025Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.Place: Rear parking lot of Police/Fire Headquarters, 200 North Third Street, Burbank (accessible from Palm Avenue)Terms of Exchange: $100 gift card per handgun, rifle, or shotgun; $200 gift card per assault weapon (as classified under California law). No gift cards for incomplete firearms or gun parts, though these items will be accepted for destruction.Eligibility: City of Burbank residents only. Participants must be 18 years or older. Drive-through event only—no walk-ups permitted.Results: Event pending.Important GuidelinesParticipants must adhere to specific safety requirements when attending the event. Firearms must be unloaded with clips or magazines removed and transported in the trunk or rear cargo area, out of reach of all occupants.Attendees must remain in their vehicles at all times during the drop-off process. Military ordnance, explosives, and ammunition will not be accepted at this event.Distribution and Verification ProcessThe Burbank Police Department reserves the right to limit the number of gift cards distributed per participant, regardless of the number of firearms surrendered. Gift cards will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.All collected weapons will be verified to determine whether they have been reported lost or stolen.
